Diamond-cut 10 spoke alloy wheel

What are the limits when it comes to a diamond-cut wheel refurbished

There is a limit to how many times a diamond cut wheel repair can be done. The amount of times that it can be done is usually 1-2 cuts. When a wheel is done more than this the wheel can become weak and compromised. Resulting in a dangerous road vehicle that could lead to an accident.

Each wheel is assessed individually by a technician. If the technician feels that the wheel will be compromised in any way and weakened they will not cut the wheel. Our technician or sales team will advise the customer on whether the wheels are eligible for a recut or refurbishment.

It is important to inform the technician if you know if your wheel has been cut before.

What is a diamond cut wheel?

Many modern-day cars come fitted with diamond-cut alloys, they are typically flat-faced with a two-tone effect that has a lacquer coating to protect the finish.

It is easy to identify a diamond-cut alloy as they are a super shiny surface with tine lines from where the CNC machine has cut away the alloy front face.

How is this process done?

This is done through a very skilled process by our skilled technicians. The wheel is placed inside a CNC machine that has a diamond-tipped lathe to remove a thin layer of alloy from the wheel.

Once complete the wheel is put into our ovens to help apply a lacquered coating that results in producing the overall finished effect.
